Our History
We’ve been in business for 48 years. We started as an insulation firm and transitioned into the Energy Efficiency Centre. Here are some major milestones along the way.
Bradford Australia introduces the manufacture of glasswool insulation.
1961
1962
Southen Insulation company is founded by Bernie and Di Davies in Adelaide. The company becomes a distributor of Bradford insulation products in South Australia.
We include VELUX skylights into our product range.
1976
1978
We become a distributor of High Performance Windows Films in South Australia.
1,000,000 square meters of insulation had been installed since the company is founded.
1981
1985
Reflective foil is added to the Bradford Insulation Group.
We become the distributor and installer of Edmonds ventilation systems.
1988
2005
We have installed 5,000,000 square meters of insulation since 1962.
Bradford acquired the Edmonds ventilation business.
2006

The company is transitioned into the Engergy Efficiency Centre.
The Australian government announces the$ 3.9 billion Energy Efficient Homes Program.
